With the return of school quickly approaching, the anticipation has increased. For several parents, the decision to send their students back to school or not can come at a hefty price. Corvid -19 has exacerbated the anxiety among some parents, students, and educators alike. If parents choose not to send their students back to school, one risks socially and emotionally isolating the student from their peers. If they decide to send your student back to class, then you risk potentially exposing the Student to COVID -19 or even worse, risking them bringing the virus home and give it to someone with a weakened immune system. With over 51 million students (Kantrowitz, 2020)attending the 20-21 academic year.

The start of the school year can be especially scary, and this year is no exception, Aynslinn Olson feels like many parents think, "Like most families, we waffled back and forth."

"Most of the schools have already tested positive" Like many others, she is hoping and praying for the best."Aynslinn and many other parents have chosen to do the hybrid learning, that two days in person and three days online. She says she doesn't feel safe. "Nothing feels safe right now."

Aynslinn, who is not only a parent she is an occupational therapist who believes" the school district is "doing the best they can with what they have" It's kind of hard and stressful" She feels as parents we need to be diligent." Be diligent on our and make sure we're checking in to are you washing your hands, wearing your mask, or standing six feet apart are the kids in your class wearing their mask consistently?" The challenge for parents can be what's in the best interest of the child, did they make the best decision? Aynslinn agrees it can be challenging and thinks that's the issue.
